The Wonder of Words

This spirited program seeks to instill in students a love of language and a curiosity about the etymology of words they encounter. It examines the origins of words in our ever-changing English language, and features for discussion the importance of Greek and Latin roots and prefixes, the influence of myth and literature, and the infiltration of foreign words into English. The DVD includes a printable teacher guide featuring reproducible handouts, activities, exercises, vocabulary words, and other related materials. Grades 5-12.
