The American Revolution

The Battles of Lexington and Concord in 1775 Ñ the first battles of the American Revolution Ñ came after a dozen years of bad feeling between the American colonies and England. The reasons for the bad feeling were many; there were arguments over trade, over taxation, over land. This program provides an interesting introduction to the circumstances and battles of the American Revolutionary War including such key events as the Boston Tea Party, the gathering of the First Continental Congress, and the creating of our Declaration of Independence. We also explore such key figures as Ethan Allen, Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Paine, Paul Revere, and George Washington. Kit includes eleven lessons, fourteen transparencies, student handouts, two complete testing sections, class projects, chronologies, and more. Grades 5-12.
