Historical Icons: Martin Luther King, Jr.
I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: we hold these truths to be self-evident; that all men are created equal. This was Martin Luther King Jr.'s dream, a dream that he would spend most of his life trying to fulfill. In this document of his life, you will learn about the history of the Civil Rights Movement; King's education at Morehouse College and Crozer Seminary, where he learned of Gandhi's method of non-violent protest, bus boycotts, sit-ins, and the "Freedom Riders" and the historic march on Washington, D. C. All of this as we celebrate the life of a man of peace: Martin Luther King, Jr.
